Creative Challenge – Masking Paper

Every month we have a new challenge for you—a way to keep you on your toes and stretch your creative muscles. This month, we challenge you to use the Alphabet À La Mode Dies in a creative way. If you like how we used the dies in our card and you want to recreate it yourself, we’ve created some easy instructions for you to follow!

First, put strips of Masking Paper on a panel of Daffodil Delight Cardstock then use a Small Blending Brush to color the panel with Daffodil Delight ink. Remove the Masking Paper and add a die-cut sun (we used the Stylish Shapes Dies to create our sun). Next, create the “sunshine” stencil by die-cutting Basic White Cardstock with Alphabet À La Mode Dies. Then, place the stencil over Basic White Cardstock and use a Small Blending Brush to color the stencil and create an ombre effect with Pale Papaya ink.

Die cut the stenciled Basic White Cardstock with the Basic Borders Dies to create a cloud shape, then color the edges of the clouds with a Balmy Blue Stampin’ Write Marker. Die cut more cloud shapes from Vellum Cardstock and adhere all the pieces to the card front. Add a small sentiment in Balmy Blue ink and finish the card with a few Opal Rounds to add some shine without distracting from the artwork.
